New Privacy Rules Push VPN Providers to Prove Their No-Logs Claims

By TechShield Editorial ยท July 24, 2026

A wave of regulatory attention on data handling is pressuring VPN companies to back up their marketing with evidence. Several major providers have this month published fresh independent audits of their no-logs policies, a practice that was once rare and is quickly becoming an industry expectation.

For everyday users, the takeaway is simple: a no-logs claim on a homepage means little without a recent third-party audit behind it. When comparing services, look for the date of the most recent audit and who conducted it.

Price remains a poor proxy for privacy. Some of the audited, reputable providers cost less than flashier competitors that have never opened their systems to inspection. We'd suggest weighting an independent audit far more heavily than a discount when choosing.
